Lead UX/UI Design
In 2021, Bitwala rebranded to Nuri with the goal of becoming more accessible and relatable to a broader audience. The brand shift moved away from a strong focus on investing toward a more holistic approach to everyday wealth building.
During the rebrand, which took place amid the 2021 crypto bull run, the product had to evolve rapidly while continuing to support a growing user base. I led the UX/UI design through fast-paced design sprints in close collaboration with the CPO and the design team. As part of this process, we conducted expert interviews, researched investing behaviors within the target group and analyzed competitors to identify opportunities and gaps in the market.
We created multiple prototypes in rapid design sprints and tested them with real users to validate concepts early. In parallel, we grouped existing and upcoming functionalities into coherent user flows and collected design constraints of the current app to ensure technical feasibility. After finalizing the core concept, we designed the main user journeys in the new brand identity and systematically transformed all existing Bitwala screens into the updated Nuri design.
In parallel, we refined and expanded the design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the entire product. In a short amount of time, this process resulted in a fully redesigned app, including new wealth management features, core banking functionality and a custom credit card.
